Identity theft continues to be the fastest growing crime in the United States. The more you learn about it, the less vulnerable you are. On May 16th, at 10 am, join Jeff Kersten from the Wisconsin Bureau of Consumer Protection as he explains the different types of identity theft, how to recognize it and how to prevent it – including information about Fraud Alerts and Security Freezes. Bag Book Sale Coming Up!
Our annual bag book sale will last a whole week this year! From May 20th-25th, fill your bag with books from our basement sale and only pay $1. There are many super books to choose from in all genres. DVDs will also be on sale for only $1 each. This sale is a great opportunity to stock up on reading material for the summer!
Help Wanted: Youth Library Assistant
The Plum Lake Public Library is seeking an individual to serve as youth library program assistant to work closely with the library director to provide quality children’s and young adult services to our Northwoods communities of Sayner-Star Lake and St. Germain. Primary job responsibilities include assisting in the planning and administering of youth programs, preparing press releases and advertising for programs, and maintaining the physical space for youth at the library. Free Online Gale Courses Now Available
We now will provide free access to Gale Courses, which offer a wide variety of interactive online courses. They are available to anyone with a library card in good standing. The courses run for a six week period, with new sessions beginning each month. You will find classes on using various computer software, personal finance, business, accounting, education and more.
